Selfiestation
..
Selfie station
The citizen may take their own passport photo with our selfie station – even before the citizen meets a Civil Service employee.

The station can typically be placed in the waiting area, and by means of signage the Civil Service can urge citizens to take advantage of the waiting time by taking their own photo. In this way, time is saved in the overall handling.
Alternatively, the citizen be made aware of the possibility of using the selfie stationwhen utilising self-service from home. Then the citizen will be guided directly to the selfie station upon arrival at the Civil Service station, and will only be called to the counter once he has taken his photograph.
The proceedings are initiated by the citizens identifying themselves by entering the first six digits of their social security number or scanning their health insurance card. The citizen is then guided through the process via the graphics on the screen. If the citizen is not satisfied with his or her photo, up to two more pictures may be taken. If none of them turn out well, the citizen will be referred to the service desk, where the employee may help them take their picture.
The image is automatically appended to the citizen's application, so the employee only needs to check whether the image meets the requirements.

Flexible service and arrangement
In order to be able to live up to the rules applicable for passport photos, the station must take pictures against a uniform backdrop. The backdrop is passive and does not require power, since it isn’t lighted.
The station is also independent of lighting conditions in the room, as neither sunlight from windows nor the light from lamps will disrupt or damage the image. This means easy operation, arrangement and installation of the biometrics solution.
